Patient Name: Brian
Patient From: Kenya
Condition Suffering From: Kidney Failure
Treatment/Procedure: Combined Kidney Liver Transplant
Doctor/Surgeon: Dr. Ramdip Ray
Hospital: Artemis Hospital, Gurugram
It was in the year 2013 that 15-year old Brian fell sick and a detailed check-up and tests diagnosed him to be suffering with Kidney Failure. After going through a lot of struggle, his parents could manage to get a Kidney Transplant done. But sadly, after a short span of six months, it failed. His mother, Ruth says that Brian’s condition was really bad, and he had become extremely weak. He was not even able to eat a whole piece of bread.
Considering the fact that the first transplant had failed, his parents were desperate to find a better treatment center for transplant. This is when they came to know about Artemis Hospital in Gurugram, India, which is one of the most renowned hospital in the world, known for its appreciable success rate of Organ Transplants. They immediately got in touch with the hospital and their case as referred to Dr. Ramdip Ray, who is respected worldwide for his thorough knowledge and experience in Liver Transplant.
On arrival, Brian and his family were immediately taken to Dr. Ramdip, who after studying his earlier medical reports suggested some advanced tests. The tests revealed that not just his Kidney, but his Liver too was damaged. Dr. Ramdip then suggested that a Combined Kidney-Liver Transplant would be the right procedure for Brian. Next was finding the donors, which was very tough but thankfully they found the donors. Without any further delay, the procedure was scheduled. The surgery went for two hours and was done successfully by Dr. Ramdip and his team members. Thanks to the proficiency of this team, there were no complications.
According to Dr. Ray, the post-surgery phase is very crucial in transplant procedures since there is fear of rejection and infection. But Dr. Ray ensured that nothing of this sort happened and the recovery happened very smoothly for Brian. The family stayed in India for four months and Mrs. Ruth says throughout this phase Dr. Ray was by their side always. Over these months, Brian was feeling much better and his appetite improved very well.
Brian and his mother are thankful to Antony and Paul too, who donated their organs and gave Brian a new lease of life. They are very happy that they chose to come to Artemis Hospital and highly recommend this hospital to anyone suffering from such critical health condition. Last but not least, Dr. Ramdip Ray, who kept the family encouraged even when they had lost all hopes.
